Eve Online Corporations and alliances

Players can organize themselves into a corporation (similar to guilds or clans in other MMOs). The company is run by a chief executive officer (CEO) who controls the company's assets. The CEO assigns roles to corporate members such as directors, accountants, and personnel managers. Companies can also unite to form alliances. Companies and alliances come in all shapes and sizes. Several groups of players wrote press releases about opening new businesses and sent IPO information to venture capital investors in the game. The alliance can control the star system enough so that their territory can be plotted on a map of the game Eve Online. Alliances based in a lawless space often form unofficial political power blocks with other alliances. This power block is usually referred to as a "coalition". Unlike formally formed alliances, coalitions are basically similar to Japan's informal 'business arrangements' in which several corporations unite to provide financial, military and / or industrial support together.

The corporation took many business models such as mining, manufacturing or "ratting" (hijacking NPC pirates to get their prizes and booty). Companies can collect income tax for their members, which deducts a percentage of each member's income. Many companies offer a variety of benefits for their members, such as free or discounted boats, equipment, formal training, and organized corporate group operations.
Among the many activities that companies can arrange is piracy. Acts that are considered piracy generally involve breaking the law in the game, and can come in many forms. Pirates can camp stargate waiting for the arrival of other players, attacking players operating on asteroids or hunting players who carry out missions assigned by NPC agents. Because this activity is considered "illegal" in game mechanics, pirate characters will often have a low security status and may even be labeled as criminals by CONCORD. Likewise, victims of open piracy can retaliate without intervention from CONCORD, often through the stated right to destroy a pirate ship (eg, "Kill right"). Even though piracy activities are "illegal" in the game universe, they do not violate the rules of the game, that is, there will only be retaliation and punishment in the game for them.

Attacking other players illegally in a safe place will result in loss of security; CONCORD, interstellar NPC police, will arrive soon to destroy the aggressor ship. However, there are legal ways to attack other players in a high security room.
All companies and alliances can formally declare war on (or "war") companies or other alliances for a weekly fee, allowing all members of the corporation or alliance involved to attack each other without losing security status or CONCORD intervention. Weekly fees can be eliminated if the declaration of war is returned. Declaration of war will clearly mark the enemy of the player, so that the player can determine who can attack and be attacked legally.
