Background
Players cross the land of Elrios, defeat enemies and level up to unlock new classes and job skills. As players explore the world, they travel to thirteen unique territories, each containing a "hub" city and about six dungeons. In the city, players can receive searches from NPCs, buy items, and interact with other players. Dungeons are installed, usually offering co-op games for up to four players at once. Some dungeons feature branching paths, light puzzle solving, and interactive elements such as collapsed buildings. The game also features a number of special dungeons. At present, there are a total of 91 different levels.

There are thirteen characters that can be played until September 2019, each with three different occupational class lines (except Rose who has four) that can be chosen starting from level 15. Each work class path offers specialties in different playing styles along with skills special.
PVP
Player vs. players (PvP) occur in special sparring arenas designed for different numbers of players. Up to eight players can fight at the same time. "Survival" modes (ie everyone vs. everyone) and "teams" are available, with team battles supporting up to 4 vs .. 4. The server has the option to fight 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, and 3 vs 3 matches. In the Korean version of Elsword, 2 vs 2 was removed because it was not popular.
