Cinematic opener takes place in a sandy and war-torn future that illustrates the final battle between the greatest hero and villain in the world. The upcoming Lex Luthor version provides voiceover narration. This battle took place in the ruins of Metropolis. Lex Luthor, wearing heavy mech armor, leads an army of super villains that includes Joker, Harley Quinn, Circe, Deathstroke, Black Adam, Giganta, Metallo and Poison Ivy. The wounded and armored Batman led the heroes, including Cyborg, Flash, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, and Green Arrow. Both Poison Ivy and Green Arrow are shown dead at the beginning of the cut scene. The battle culminates with the death of Wonder Woman at Luthor's hands, where an unshaven and tired Superman hears his dying scream from orbit and flies to Earth to face it. When Superman hugs Wonder Woman's body, he falls to the ground and it is revealed that Luthor hid a Kryptonite pellet in his mouth as a trap. Luthor stabs Superman with a kryptonite spear, and retreats to declare his victory only to see the Brainiac war fleet fill the sky.

The scene then shifts to the Watchtower today, where the future is Lex Luthor, heavily modified with Brainiac technology, telling the story to Superman, Batman, and today's Wonder Woman. Future Luthor explains that the last deadly war between heroes and villains was triggered by the subtle manipulation of Brainiac (which slowly downloads their power over time). With the most powerful creature on the planet dead, Brainiac intends to use pirated data to make the metahuman army under its control, facilitate its conquest of the Earth. As the only survivor of the war, Luthor could do nothing to oppose the Brainiac conquest of the planet. Luthor explained that he was able to survive in secret and eventually steal data and energy that was stolen from the parent Brainiac in the form of "exobytes" (nanobot sized devices that can bind to living hosts and give them their own super powers). Luthor has traveled to his past to release exobytes into the Earth's current atmosphere. The heroes are angry, but Luthor explains that because he has done this, soon thousands of new metahumans will be made from ordinary humans (being the character of players in the game). He asked the Justice League to find and train these new metahuman, because Brainiac was coming and the Earth must be ready to succeed in a place that was once destined to fail. When this cinematic ends, players will be taken to the character creation menu to build their new Heroes or Villains.
In the second trailer for the game "In Lex we Trust", it was revealed that Lex Luthor's description of the event that led to his present arrival was not as he had explained to the heroes. The trailer starts with Luthor reviving his friend's fracture from the unconscious. Luthor explained that the Brainiac army had penetrated the Fort of Solitude and that their time was running out. As they approached the time portal space, Eradicator Brainiac and Fracture's attack destroyed the drone robot with a small grenade. The two arrive at a portal that is being stabilized by Batman (whose face is deformed and his arms are replaced by artificial robots because of injuries due to fighting criminals and heroes). As more and more Eradicators entered the room, Luthor lied saying that his clothes were broken and he couldn't help them. Batman tells Fracture to take a tube containing millions of exobytes and go through the portal, while attacking Eradicator to buy him more time. Fracture thanked Luthor for using exobytes to give him strength. Seeing the opportunity he had been waiting for, Luthor killed Fracture describing him as "an extraordinary laboratory rat." Before Luthor steps into the portal, Batman calls Luthor to warn that "I will come for you" to which Luthor replies "No, you will not" and activates the order of self-destruction. Luthor entered the portal and the Fortress of Solitude suffered a large explosion. He arrived in a dark alley, maybe today. He was welcomed by himself at this time who described himself late.
Then it was shown at the end of the "The Prime Battleground" attack that Future Lex Luthor and Lex Luthor worked together to steal the power of Brainiac. Luthor is then betrayed by himself in the future because Future Luthor wants power for himself. Later it was shown that Future Batman survived the explosion at Fortress of Solitude and had pursued Future Luthor through time. Future Luthor escapes and Future Batman follows him. In the following cutscene, Future Batman is said to be the last hope for humanity.

After these events, the heroes are led by Future Batman while the villains are led by Future Luthor to the "Nexus of Reality" (the center of the Multiverse itself). Both sides struggle for control, using the paradox of constant time travel to change the history of iconic characters, forcing heroes and villains to work in parallel with each other, changing the timelines in the same way. What one causes, the other returns, thus creating an infinite cycle. This produces great paradoxical creatures that spend time alone. In that attack, the player must stop the creature from destroying the space-time continuum (one of the many attacks where criminals and heroes have the same goal). This program ends the storyline that underlies this game, but also opens up the possibility to enter many new realities.
Since then, there have been certain stories related to reflecting Arrowverse, with the introduction of Nanda Parbat, fighting with the characters featured in Legends of Tomorrow, and Legren Supergirl Costume Legends characters.
